The Apple Orchard - Le Thor
Le Thor
Le Thor
Le Thor is a very typical, local French town made charming by the presence of the river running through, with colourful flowered bridges and the impressive Romanesque church, "Le Notre-Dame-du-Lac". The morning markets, with fresh local produce and wares, bakeries, flower shops and tabac's, bring an abundance of activity whilst the cafes, set under Platane trees in the shade, are the perfect spot to sit and watch it all go by. There is also a large super market just outside Le Thor for all your shopping that stays open late on Saturdays (8pm) and until 12 noon on Sundays.

The Apple Orchard and local sports and activities
The house is situated in the countryside, approx 3 kms outside Le Thor, which takes 3 minutes by car, 10 minutes by bicycle and about 20 minutes to walk. It is surrounded by fruit orchards and sunflower fields and is very quiet and peaceful. The meandering river Sorgue provides the opportunity to fish, canoe, and enjoy local walks and the terrain is perfect for cycling or running. It is possible to rent bicycles from a shop in Le Thor and use the local tennis courts through booking with the local tourist office.
